Upstairs is the creator of living spaces and an architect of digital comfort, vigorously expanding its operations in Krakow since 2019. Through intermediation in rental and property sales, professional management of long-term and short-term leases, the company creates harmony between supply and demand.
The company's client gallery is impressive. From students of Krakow's universities, for whom the company is the key to finding a cozy nook in the city of learning, to corporate employees who use Upstairs to find a peaceful haven after a day full of challenges. Other tourists include those who see Krakow as a journey through time and those who come as part of international professional missions to expand their horizons through internships and traineeships.
But that's just the beginning. Over four years of operation, Upstairs has changed the landscape of real estate but, above all, the stories of people. It has rented over 250 properties, thus creating 250 unique stories.
The essential element for the client was the need to equip the website with a new version of a dedicated administrative panel for managing reservations. The existing solution is an inefficient tool that does not meet the requirements of both the administrator and the customers.
This opened up an opportunity for us to create something exceptional: a functional panel that would serve not only for ongoing management but also for completing special offers and granting dedicated discounts. What was to distinguish it is the ability for guests to make reservations and payments directly on the Upstairs website, bypassing intermediaries such as Airbnb or Booking. The panel will be equipped with a specially designed calendar that synchronizes all bookings, ensuring the consistency and efficiency of the system.
Equally important was responsiveness - our website was to become one of the few places where code and design cooperate like a virtual reality experience. This required a deep understanding of the dynamic nature of various devices on which the site could be displayed. We created a flexible grid where every pixel was a connection of fluidity and precision.
Our goal was to create a website that not only delights with aesthetics but also serves as a virtual reflection of the company's refined character. To achieve it, we had to go beyond standard design challenges and immerse ourselves in a unique direction that fully captures the spirit of the enterprise.
To keep up with changing trends and the requirements of the client and business partners, the appjet.io team was asked to combine complex technical systems with market needs. Therefore, in our expert process, we reached for advanced tools to create dedicated technology.
The front end of the project was created using the Next.js platform. This form of programming enabled us to achieve rapid responsiveness, where every interface element seems to respond to the user's rhythm.
The panel is at the center of the site, per the client's wish. To meet users' expectations, we introduced a dedicated ICS calendar. It allows for the creation of a calendar file that freely communicates with platforms such as Airbnb or Booking, simultaneously synchronizing reservation times and enabling the blocking of reservation dates. Additionally, our system grants individual discounts and creates special offers.
To complement the technological concept, we are implementing two distinct language versions of the site: Polish and English. This allows our users to choose the language that resonates most with their preferences.
We used backend technologies such as Firebase, Brevo, Przelewy24 - API, and ical to create a system that functions like a perfectly synchronized mechanism.
On the other hand, the front end was developed using the Next.js platform, styled components, and Ant Design.

Choosing a date, selecting a room, and finalizing payment are within one page, one cohesive vision. It's more than just technology! It's a philosophy that emphasizes the comfort and convenience of the guest. It's an approach that treats the reservation process not as a necessity but as part of the experience, meant to be as satisfying as the stay itself.
